Become a Quality Inspector
About The Position
The Quality Inspector position is a detail-oriented position requiring good visual acuity, attention to detail, and excellent documentation skills. The primary purpose of this position is monitoring, measuring, and review of work in progress, completed product, input material, and associated documentation throughout the work stream to assure conformance to prescribed processes and specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Perform and appropriately document inspection programs.
- Perform set-up, in process, and final QA inspections and provide feedback as appropriate.
- Participate in incoming raw material inspection/testing.
- Maintain product retain area.
- Act as resource for the evaluation and execution of test procedures and methods that affect Strouse product quality.
- Assist in collecting samples as needed for review.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Actively promote quality in day-to-day interactions.
- Encourage use of the and on alert system in PMC to aid in maintaining clarity and currency on work instructions and other reference documents.
- Participate in the internal audit program for Strouse, as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Participate in CAPA activities (Root Cause Analysis and Implementing Corrective Actions), as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Contribute to the creation, improvement, implementation, documentation, and performance of the processes and procedures of The Strouse Quality Management System.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, frequently lift, and/or move objects that weigh 50 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office Products
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience with Quality Assurance Activities
- Inspection
- Product or Material Testing
- Metrology
- Auditing
- Familiarity with use of statistical software (i.e. Minitab)
- Knowledge of PPAP, Process Validation, First Article Inspections, Risk Assessment, and Quality Tools
- Knowledge of or Familiarity with Quality Management System Standards (ex. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, etc.)
- Quality Assurance Related Certifications
