Precision-made Automotive Die Cut Parts and materials

Saving time and money on the assembly line is a massive competitive advantage. Strouse’s diverse manufacturing capability allows us to slit automotive adhesives to the sizes you need, cut them to shape, create a tab, or extend the liner for easy hand assembly.

We specialize in the following automotive solutions (among others):

  • Gasketing and Sealing
  • Bonding Solutions
  • EV Solutions
  • Masking
  • Buzz, Squeak, and Rattle Protection
  • Surface Protection
  • Labeling

Gaskets and Sealing

Gaskets help protect automobile systems from liquids and debris.

FLUID MANAGEMENT

Engine gaskets seal oil, while cooling system gaskets seal water pumps and thermostats.

WEATHER SEALING AND ATTACHMENT

Automotive gaskets typically use high-durability materials to withstand exposure to the elements (e.g., UV, water, and dirt), making them an ideal choice for outdoor applications.

Bonding Solutions

Flexible adhesives offer a multipurpose, lightweight alternative to mechanical fasteners. This will help you deliver greater value per vehicle without compromising its strength or performance.

DIGITAL DISPLAYS

Manufacturers use high-quality, optically clear adhesives to build durable, aesthetically pleasing automotive screens. Displays may also include adhesive components connected to cameras, sensors, lights, sunroofs, and the primary instrument panel.

MIRRORS

Manufacturers can bond the inner layers of a car mirror into their desired configuration using double-sided tape.

BODY SIDE-MOLDING

Automotive side moldings must be durable enough to withstand external wear. Sourcing the right material and adhesive is imperative to the project's success.

PANEL ATTACHMENT

Using powerful double-sided tape to bind panels can significantly help speed up your production time and reduce your vehicle's weight.

AUTOMOTIVE WIRE HARNESSES

Tape is a simple and long-lasting solution for wrapping and repairing wire harnesses.

HOSE AND CABLE ASSEMBLIES

Mounting hoses, cables, clamps, etc., to challenging surfaces may require specialized adhesive configurations.

BRAKE SHIM BONDING

Brake shims use pressure-sensitive adhesives to help dampen the vibration and noise of a brake pad. Manufacturers use high-performance, thermally-resistant tapes to get the job done.

FOAM AND FIBER BONDING

Whether it's seat assembly or carpet bonding, automobiles use a wide range of foam and fibers that may require a specialized tape to secure. Foam tape also functions as a cushioning pad and a gap filler.

Die Cut EV Solutions

Innovative electric vehicles require reliable adhesive solutions. Strouse is proud to help EV companies prove out their battery designs in the real world.

BATTERY PACK BONDING

Battery packs utilize die cut adhesives for multiple purposes:

  • Cell-to-Cell Bonding
  • Lid Protection
  • Gasketing and Sealing
  • Compression Pad Bonding
  • Flexible Busbar Adhesives

—and more!

EV BATTERY INSULATION

Insulating an EV battery increases its longevity and safety factor.

Thermal Runaway Protection

The most significant threat to EV battery integrity is severe overheating, which can trigger a chain reaction known as "thermal runaway." Manufacturers use materials like flame-retardant tapes to reduce the likelihood and consequences of thermal runaway in their battery designs.

Dielectric Insulation

A sudden increase in heat or voltage may cause electrical failure, with catastrophic consequences for the battery systems surrounding it. Dielectric tape helps prevent arcing and keeps the batteries stable.

CELL WRAPPING

Wrapping EV battery cells with thermally and electrically resistant materials, such as polyimide, helps manage heat and prevent dangerous short circuits.

CELL VENTING

Adhesive membrane pads designed for cell venting can help release air when pressure builds during thermal runaway.

BATTERY LABELING

From caution labels to lot identification numbers, there are plenty of reasons to label EV components. Ideally, this label will be long-lasting and withstand certain conditions.

EV CHARGING AND STORAGE

EV charging stations have specific bonding and gasketing requirements that often call for durable, heat- or UV-resistant materials.

Paint and Industrial Masking

Automotive masking reduces the time and labor required for application while increasing quality.

POWDER COATING

While many companies still perform masking processes by hand, die cut tape can be used for processes like powder coating to help decrease the amount of scrap and improve the accuracy surrounding features like hole covers.

SAND BLASTING

Manufacturers use specialized tapes that are thicker and have higher adhesion to protect surfaces from abrasive materials.

MASKING KITS

An automotive masking kit can significantly increase productivity, even to the point of doubling vehicle production

Buzz, Squeak, and Rattle Protection

Engineers design and build BSR (buzz, squeak, and rattle) protective components to eliminate unwanted noise, vibration, and harshness in vehicle interiors.

VIBRATION AND SOUND DEADENING

These applications commonly use thick foam and other materials, which can make achieving tight tolerances more challenging. An experienced converter can make design and press adjustments to help solve these manufacturing challenges.

Surface Protection and Coverage

From hubcaps to windows, automotive surface protection helps preserve a vehicle's aesthetic appeal.

TRANSIT AND MUTILATION PROTECTION

Low-tack protective films and other materials are excellent at helping preserve new vehicle surfaces without leaving sticky residue behind.

Automotive Labeling

Vehicle identification labels and brake system information labels are crucial to maintenance and product safety.

RFID SOLUTIONS

In automotive manufacturing, RFID and digital ID technologies enable better quality control and tracking by allowing carmakers and other manufacturers to monitor individual parts.
