What’s the most efficient way to ensure you get a steady stream of parts when you need them?
Joining Strouse’s Stock Order program will allow you to place strategic orders and fully utilize our converting services. Not only does the Stock Order Program get you the best price for your production volumes, it also ensures there are no delays from pesky roadblocks like material lead times, equipment lead times, manufacturing lead times, etc.
Over the years, we have used stock orders to help our customers improve their production processes. Let us explain what the Stock Order Program is and how it might benefit you.
What is Strouse’s Stock Order Program?
The Stock Order Program is a method of placing multiple orders simultaneously and, oftentimes, planning product releases over a scheduled period.
Typically, we will calculate how many parts you need a month, and determine how stable your volume is so that we can plan out a certain amount of time in advance, allowing us to build in all of those lead times and run more product at one time.
HOW LONG DO STOCK ORDERS EXTEND?
At Strouse, stock order releases may extend for 3, 6, or 12 months, depending on the level of credit built with your company. Additionally, if your raw material price is high, we may require it to be billed once incurred.
WHAT ARE THE ADDED BENEFITS OF JOINING?
Stock orders can benefit you and your converter by offering many advantages in the production planning process.
A) GETTING BULK PRICES FOR MATERIALS
Placing multiple orders allows your converter to purchase larger quantities of material.
Flexible materials often have a minimum order quantity that converters must meet, which can lead to waste. Conversely, they typically have price breaks when you reach certain thresholds of material. When we are able to run more product at once, it can sometimes allow us to reach a better price point. As a result, larger material orders are often more cost-effective and less wasteful than smaller orders.
B) REDUCING THE EFFECTS OF MATERIAL DELAYS
Because a stock order is a series of part shipments scheduled in advance, it may offer more flexibility regarding material delays. Since your converter is more likely to order material in bulk, the total number of shipments will decrease. Additionally, there will be more room to adjust the schedule in the case of any unexpected changes. This type of advanced planning allows you to absorb some of the unexpected events that will pop up from time to time.
C) MAKING THE MOST OUT OF MACHINE RUNS
Stock orders allow converters to plan product shipments in advance, which often results in running the machine for extended periods of time to produce more parts.
When we run more products at one time, we reduce the effects of costs that come when we are setting up and breaking down a press. Depending on the complexity of the project, this could save you anywhere from multiple hours to several days of time, and hundreds of feet of material each time.
Take Advantage of the Stock Order Program
Joining the Stock Order Program will allow you to consolidate repetitive orders into a simple, straightforward process that will allow you to reduce your costs and the impact of any unexpected surprises that manufacturing can yield.
