BONDING
Thermo Bonding Film, Anti-Splinter Film (ASF) and Circuit Bonding Tape have differing adhesive types. Each offers a different thickness profile, different chemical, heat, tensile and shear strength properties. Strouse considers these factors for compatibility, relative to the components ultimate use.
3M's VHB is one such product. When introduced twenty-seven years ago, this product's unique features of visco-elasticity and resistance to UV, moisture and certain chemicals were certainly innovative. The closed cell acrylic tape has become a main source for adhering metals, plastics and glass to smooth and uneven surfaces. Not only does VHB aggressively seal and bond, it also eliminates the need for invasive attachment such as screws, nails and welds. This adhesive has proven durable and with it's elastic properties, absorbs shock and flexes with changes in pressure, vibration and temperature. Strouse has brought it's ability to precisely die cut as a means of furthering the options for this bonding tape. We offer rotary and flat-bed die cutting as well as laser cutting of this foam tape and other 'like' materials.
A die cut of an adhesive will reduce waste. It will improve overall quality and appearance over that of a liquid epoxy of equivalent strength. Production speed will increase as the precision die cut allows for exact placement of the part during assembly.
The finished parts can be shipped as roll goods, peelable pads, bagged, stacked or as a kit.
